With over 25 years of experience, Hair to Train has established itself as one of New Zealand’s leading hairdressing and barbering training academies. To continue attracting aspiring professionals, the academy needed a modern website that made it easy for potential students to learn about courses—without relying on downloadable PDF brochures. LOGIC1 was tasked with designing and developing a new website that:

  • Clearly presented course information in an engaging and accessible format.
  • Provided students with all the details they need in a format that is easy to understand.
  • Introduced a new navigation structure to help potential students quickly find the information they’re looking for.
  • Ensured full compatibility across all devices for a smooth user experience.

Understanding Barriers to Finding Course Information

Identify and remove obstacles that might prevent potential students from accessing important course details while ensuring the website effectively communicates Hair to Train’s offerings.

Our Approach

  • Competitor Benchmarking: Analysed competitor websites to identify industry best practices and common pain points.
  • Heuristic Evaluation: Assessed potential usability issues that could impact user experience and information accessibility.

This research helped us define an optimised structure that ensures students can easily find and understand course details.

Create a visually engaging and intuitive design that guides users effortlessly through course exploration.

  • Mood Board Creation: Developed to show the look and feel of the new website design and ensure it aligns with the brand’s identity. 
  • Styling & Design Elements: Selected fonts, call-to-action styles, and a colour scheme to improve readability and engagement.
  • New Navigation Structure: Designed an improved menu and content hierarchy to ensure potential students can quickly find the information they need.
  • User Flow Mapping: Designed a seamless way for users to explore courses.
  • Wireframing: Created responsive wireframes for both desktop and mobile to visualise layout and functionality.
  • High-Fidelity Designs: Developed layouts for client approval before moving into development.

This process ensured that the website would be both visually appealing and easy to navigate, regardless of the user’s device.
