VIVO, a family-run and privately owned company, operates over 80 salons across New Zealand, employing 650 staff with the support of regional managers. Guided by their core philosophies—Grow It, Love It, and Own It—VIVO delivers salon excellence while tailoring services to local market needs. With more job seekers starting their career search online, VIVO sought to modernize their careers page to better attract and engage potential stylists.

LOGIC1 was tasked with reimagining the careers page, focusing on enhancing user experience (UX), optimising written content, and creating a more intuitive application process. These updates aimed to increase stylist submissions and effectively capture the essence of VIVO’s culture to leave a lasting impression on prospective employees.

Improving the UX/UI of the Careers Page

Objective

Redesign the careers page to improve usability, streamline navigation, and create an engaging, mobile-first experience tailored to job seekers’ preferences.

Our Approach

  1. Behavior Analysis:
    • Analysed Microsoft Clarity recordings to identify how users interacted with the existing page.
    • Reviewed heatmaps, scroll data, and time-on-page metrics to optimize content length and layout.
  2. Design Optimization:
    • Adopted a monochrome modular design with brand elements to create a clean and professional appearance.
    • Added dynamic and navigational features to help users move through the page without distractions, focusing on their core intent—applying for a job.
  3. Highlighting Key Content:
    • Focused on job seekers’ top priorities by prominently featuring benefits and company culture.
    • Included testimonials from current employees at the top of the page, creating an emotional connection between applicants and the VIVO team.
    • Used creative media assets to make the content more relatable and visually engaging.

    • Reviewed existing ZOHO forms and customized a template that suited VIVO’s needs.
    • Divided the application into three distinct sections to simplify navigation and reduce friction.
  2. Personalized Features:
    • Designed a thoughtful "Thank You" page to recognize applicants' time and effort.
    • Included an option for applicants to receive a copy of their submission via email with one click.
  3. Testing and Refinement:
    • Tested the form to ensure ease of use and functionality across devices.

  • The new application process provided a user-friendly experience, encouraging more candidates to complete their submissions.
  • Personalized touches added professionalism and left a positive impression on applicants.
