Tax Refunds were the first to market, but with increased competition, the brand was experiencing strong levels of churn that they needed to reverse. The client needed cost-effective, smart strategies that would help them get more from their budget & help grow the brand once more.

Our Process

Tax Refunds were the largest tax refund company in New Zealand before 2010; however, with new competitors & savvier online users, their market share was steadily decreasing. LOGIC1’s task was to regain market share and reduce cost per acquisition, all with a much smaller online budget.

From 2015-2018, we expanded Tax Refunds presence to several different platforms to support our paid search work – from social media ads to display, Gmail and video. With specific strategies in place for each platform, we introduced an attribution model that helped with both our automated and manual optimisation.

Unfortunately, a change in legislation meant the nullification of the tax refund industry in 2018 but not after Tax Refunds had regained their position in the top two of refund companies in the country.
